Jess She Can (Jess Sigsworth interview)
She Kicks, issue 52, March 2019 pp.22–25
Jess Sigsworth topped the FA WSL 2 scoring charts and won the title with Doncaster Rovers Belles after returning from a 2016 anterior cruciate ligament injury, and is now Manchester United’s number nine. She tells Chris Brookes that where Doncaster knew her as a physical, strong forward training twice a week, Casey Stoney wants her to know the game as well as lead the line, works one to one after sessions and has transformed her technical side. Full-time facilities and daily strength work have brought a physical change too. She speaks warmly of Millie Bright, her close friend and fellow ‘twin tank’ at Doncaster, as a driving influence, keeps an England call-up in mind without fixating on it, and names Katie Zelem, Charlotte Devlin and Millie Turner as the dressing room’s loudest.
