Izzy Living The Dream As Head Coach At Manchester United Foundation (Izzy Keighley)

Izzy Keighley left a full-time job to study, and two years later is head coach at the Manchester United Foundation. She started there as a football coach in 2019, working across Street Reds, schools and girls’ development programmes, completed an FA Level 2 in coaching football and began a UEFA B in futsal coaching, and was promoted this year. The highlight of her career so far was two days coaching on the pitch at Old Trafford in partnership with the Foundation and Adidas, playing eleven-a-side at the Theatre of Dreams, linking up at right-back with Wes Brown and going one against one with Denis Irwin. Her degree, she argues, gives a three-dimensional view of a club: budgeting, transfer regulations, stakeholders, communication.
