Match report
International Action: Belgium 3-3 England
She Kicks, issue 56, October 2019 p.20
England’s first match after the World Cup, a friendly away to Belgium at the Stadion Den Dreef in Leuven on 29 August 2019, finished 3-3 and was an untidy way to restart. Jodie Taylor opened the scoring on 22 minutes and Beth Mead added a second four minutes later, but an own goal shortly before half-time and a second-half brace for the Belgian forward Van Kerkhoven pulled the hosts level twice. Nikita Parris restored the lead from the penalty spot on 75 minutes before Belgium equalised again. She Kicks captions the page with the tournament’s shorthand, marking Taylor on target, an England debut, Lucy Bronze deployed in midfield and Mead’s goal.
