Hup! Hup! And Away… (Daphne van Domselaar Interview)

Five pages with the tournament’s breakout goalkeeper, five years after she watched the Netherlands win EURO 2017 from the stands as a fan. Van Domselaar had made her senior debut only in February and came on 22 minutes into the opener against Sweden when Sari van Veenendaal was injured; she finished with more saves than any keeper at the tournament and a quarter-final display against France that ended the Dutch run in style. She is disarming about the aftermath, realising what had happened only on a beach in Greece with her mother, and being recognised by Dutch holidaymakers. She stayed at FC Twente for playing minutes rather than take a bigger move too early, is studying technical business administration as a back-up, and names England as the league she wants next.
