Home Comforts

A two-page item on the £10m headquarters opened for Manchester City Women at the City Football Academy in May. The 17,000 square-foot building is described as state-of-the-art, with elite gym and medical facilities and what the club calls industry-leading technology throughout, plus a circular changing room and social areas hung with photographs of players and their families. Among them is The 100 Club, a display honouring every player to pass a century of appearances for the team. The site also takes in the 7,000-capacity Joie Stadium. Managing director Charlotte O’Neill calls it a statement of ambition, while chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, present at the opening, frames it as a long-term commitment.
