Interview
Hello Stranger! (Sam Kerr)
She Kicks, issue 91, September 2025 pp.53–57
An interview with Liverpool’s new number 24, the Scotland midfielder Sam Kerr, the self-described wee lassie from Falkirk rather than the Australia forward whose name she shares, a collision the piece cheerfully leans into, noting that even Chelsea joined in on announcing her move to Merseyside. Chris Brookes covers the summer switch that followed January’s loan from Bayern Munich, where two years left her, in her own words, a different player, matured on and off the pitch. She was in Switzerland supporting her mostly German Bayern teammates, found the country ruinously expensive, and was caught by the television cameras eating a bag of chips in the stadium. Her summer also took in Rangers winning the Scottish Cup, Mykonos and Portugal. On new signing Kirsty Maclean, whom she has known since Rangers, she still calls her Ini, after Iniesta.
