Group C: France — Finally France?

Kieran Theivam of the Women’s Football Podcast interviews the Paris Saint-Germain central defender ahead of a tournament France have long been tipped to win, a squad rich in experience and containing many of Lyon’s recent Champions League finalists yet still without a senior title beyond the Cyprus Cup. Laura Georges reports preparation going well, with a conditioning camp heavy on running and a game against Norway to come before Sweden. Asked who is in form she laughs and refers the question to the coach. She names Celine Deville as the squad joker and impressionist, and says there is no club rivalry among the players. Her boyfriend, father, brother and friends are driving over. She welcomes a fresh challenge so soon after losing the Champions League final, and insists France are not focusing on England especially.
