Group A Preview and Shine On, Sherida (Sherida Spitse interview)

She Kicks calls Group A anyone’s guess: Norway have the pedigree, the hosts have the crowds, Denmark are perennial dark horses and Belgium are dangerous on their day. The Dutch voice is Sherida Spitse, thrown into senior football at sixteen by Vera Pauw and still there eleven years and 132 caps later. She opens against her former LSK Kvinner team mates from Norway, a draw she claims to have predicted, and looks forward to playing them in a full stadium. Media interest at home has grown simply because the tournament is theirs. Her son Jens will be there if possible. Asked about the future, the first Dutch woman ever transferred for a fee says she remains open to anything and wants to play for a top team in a top league.
