Goalscoring Kit (Kit Graham interview)

Charlton Athletic’s top scorer in the FA Women’s Premier League Southern Division, Kit Graham, tells Wilf Frith how she scored nine goals in the Addicks’ opening three games. She credits a new attacking formation and a squad deep enough that one poor performance can cost a starting place, describing the competition as exciting. Graham says the 12-1 opening-day win was deserved and built on work rate, while a scare against lower-division Swindon Town in the league cup was the wake-up call the side needed before they responded with five goals. She puts the goal glut down to team-mates such as Sam Pittuck and Gemma Shepherd feeding her fast one-twos, and sets out to beat last season’s tally of fifteen. The piece also introduces the restructured six-division FA WPL.
