Hibernian are Scottish Women’s Premier League champions for the first time since 2007. A crucial 4-2 win over Celtic had left Grant Scott’s side needing only a point from a final-day meeting with Rangers, who could have leapfrogged them with a victory, and Hibs travelled to Ibrox determined to deny their hosts a party in their own back yard. The title was settled on 74 minutes, when Linzi Taylor fed Kathleen McGovern out wide and then arrived in the box to control and volley into the far corner. A side the magazine describes as the walking wounded saw the game out for a first piece of silverware since the 2019 SWPL Cup and a return to the Champions League, with Glasgow City runners-up and Rangers consigned to third.
