Foreign Kicks: Denise Makes a Dream Dash (Denise O’Sullivan interview)
She Kicks, issue 35, May 2016 pp.38–39
Named FAI Senior Women’s International Player of the Year, Denise O’Sullivan describes leaving Glasgow City for the NWSL’s Houston Dash. Houston made contact in January after Ireland played the United States, and a year remaining on her Glasgow contract and a delayed visa held up a move she had wanted for years. She has not yet met team-mates including Carli Lloyd and Morgan Brian, but has been added to the squad WhatsApp group and welcomed on Twitter by coach Randy Waldrum. Going full time will end the part-time cafe job she took in January. She recalls Ciara Grant reassuring her before a debut in which she scored twice, and calls Glasgow City one big family.
