Foreign Kicks: Ada Awarded Top European Prize (Ada Hegerberg interview)

Ada Hegerberg was named UEFA’s Best Women’s Player for 2015-16, the youngest recipient of an award previously won by Nadine Kessler and Celia Sasic, and collected it in Monaco on the same night Cristiano Ronaldo took the men’s prize for a third time. Having turned twenty-one in July, she was playing top-tier football in Norway at fifteen and joined Lyon from Turbine Potsdam in 2014; she finished top scorer in both the French league and the Champions League, her thirteenth European goal coming in the final against Wolfsburg. She says nothing beats winning the Champions League with your team and that the prize is a bonus, and argues Norway must find a modern passing style.
