For Kicks & Giggles: Cups & Mugs and Spot the Difference

She Kicks, issue 47, May 2018 pp.48–49

The puzzle page doubles as a small piece of Women’s FA Cup history, dug out because the issue is the magazine’s cup final edition. Cups & Mugs shows twelve trophy photographs and asks readers to name the winner, the club, the year and the beaten finalist, and the printed answers assemble a sixteen-year roll of honour running from Emma Byrne with Arsenal in 2001 to Carli Lloyd with Manchester City in 2017, taking in Mary Phillip’s Fulham, Eniola Aluko’s Charlton, Lindsay Johnson’s Everton, Jayne Ludlow’s Arsenal of 2007 and Ji So-Yun’s Chelsea along the way. Alongside it is a Spot the Difference built on the England dressing room before the Wales qualifier – the magazine’s excuse for a Changing Rooms pun – in which the planted changes include a chandelier, a loose chicken and a pair of poop slippers.
