Catherine Etoe meets the English-born, Florida-based centre-back who had an eventful 2025: one of the first professional signings for Gainbridge Super League newcomers Sporting Club Jacksonville in May, and elevated from Scotland’s Under-23s to the senior squad by October, winning three caps. The 6ft 2in Brown, a former midfielder at Cheltenham Town and Oxford United, talks about learning piano and saxophone, coaching academy kids, and a club that has sold 6,000 season tickets. She describes Melissa Andreatta’s call-up phone call five minutes before training, her Swindon Town upbringing under Paolo Di Canio, and choosing Scotland through her father. She wants to break lines with her passing, not just be a physical presence.
