#FIFAWWC 2023 Semi-Finals Recap
She Kicks, issue 81, October 2023 pp.24–27
A four-page semi-final recap. Spain reach a first final by beating Sweden 2-1 in Auckland, Salma Paralluelo striking late before Rebecca Blomqvist equalises and Olga Carmona’s 18-yard effort goes in off the bar just 93 seconds later. England then end Australia’s run 3-1 at a sold-out Stadium Australia, Ella Toone opening the scoring, Sam Kerr levelling with a strike that nearly lifted the roof off, and Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo settling it. Lucy Bronze reflects on finally reaching a final after semi-final defeats in Canada, France and the Netherlands, and Tony Gustavsson insists his team’s run must be the start of something.
