FBB Meets SK, Does #IWD2025!

She Kicks joined Football Beyond Borders at its North West office to mark International Women’s Day, meeting young footballers from Manchester and Merseyside schools. The girls created posters celebrating the women who inspire them, from Ella Toone and Jordan Nobbs to family members, teachers and each other, discussing equality, representation and role models along the way. Former She Kicks editor Jen O’Neill, who helped run the workshop, shared how watching Kelly Smith MBE play had shaped her own outlook, while Smith herself sent a video message crediting former England manager Hope Powell CBE for ‘knocking down doors’ at the FA. A warm, grassroots snapshot of how the women’s game’s rise is being felt by the next generation, tied to the magazine’s ongoing partnership with the youth charity and Oxford University’s Football on the Brain project.
