FAWPL — Taking Stock

Two Q and As from the winter pyramid. Sarah Stones, one of Stockport County’s longest-serving players after six seasons in the first team having come up through the junior section, discusses a tight Northern Combination title race, naming Mossley the toughest opponents for their team ethic, and picking a win over Chorley and a 5-0 defeat of Huddersfield as high points from a run of three successive meetings with the same club. James Marrs, in his second season as Gillingham manager having won the Kent Cup and Ryman Cup in his first, credits added quality in the squad and backroom staff and tightening up in front of and behind the ball. He picks a 0-0 draw at Cardiff as his favourite moment and plays down title talk. An FA statement on restructuring follows.
