FAWPL — Shaun Spencer (Preston North End Women)

An interview with Shaun Spencer, appointed Preston North End manager in May alongside his roles as men’s head coach at the University of Central Lancashire and director of coaching at the Sir Tom Finney Preston Development Centre, with previous experience as a youth coach at Daegu FC in Korea and a coach educator at Bolton Wanderers. He has transformed a side that finished seventh into promotion contenders, winning five of their first seven Northern Division games to sit second. Spencer credits a clear philosophy aimed at aesthetically pleasing football, says the players’ mentality has surpassed his expectations, and singles out Blackburn’s Katie Anderton among opponents faced.
