FAWPL: Dani Petrovic — Aston Villa

Stuart Dick interviews Aston Villa’s captain about a season in the FA Women’s Premier League National Division. Dani Petrovic calls it good overall with ups and downs, creditable given the number of new faces and new management, and singles out the Centre of Excellence youngsters who have settled and won regular game time. She regrets dropped points that could have been avoided and a poor account against Liverpool in the FA Cup, though she rates them a top-class side. Personally she has stayed largely healthy and enjoys football as much as she did ten years ago. As captain she leads by example rather than shouting, offering encouragement and calm. Coventry and Sunderland are the fixtures with an edge. Villa’s selection for FA WSL2 from 2014 has the club buzzing. The National Division table accompanies the page.
