FAWPL: Coventry City; Newcastle United Magpies; Billericay Town; and league tables

She Kicks, issue SK20, April 2014 p.42

Wilf Frith’s FA Women’s Premier League round-up carries three interviews and the divisional tables. Coventry City manager Craig Nicholls, unbeaten since 6 October, describes the switch from the National Division to the Southern Division as tough for travelling but very competitive, praises playing some games at the Ricoh Arena, and expects a title fight with Gillingham, Cardiff City and Portsmouth. Newcastle United Magpies captain Sarah Wilson explains the frustration of eight straight defeats after losing only one of the first six, and the relief of back-to-back wins beginning with a victory over Leeds. Billericay Town manager Kim Coster attributes his side’s unbeaten Eastern Premier Division run to a mix of youth and experience and an attacking 4-4-2, and names Bedford’s Tasha Fensome the best opponent faced. Top-scorer tables are headed by Jodie Michalska and Sarah Wiltshire.
