FAWPL Championship Play-Off Final: Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Charlton Athletic

The last FA Women’s Premier League Championship play-off final took the North and South champions to Bramall Lane for the final place in a new Championship, and Charlton came from behind to take it. A chaotic opening saw a Blackburn goal disallowed, Natasha Flint hit the post from forty yards and Saffron Jordan bundled over on the rebound, with captain Lynda Shepherd placing the penalty in the bottom corner. Then two near-identical goals in five minutes before half time turned it: Kit Graham heading in one cross and Georgia Griffin arriving on another. Gemma Donnelly thought the last twenty minutes of the first half cost her side; Kit Graham said Charlton had not failed to score all season.
