Fast Fives with Leigh Nicol

An instalment of Fast Fives, an interview of two halves with the Crystal Palace midfielder, a former Millwall Lionesses success story under Lee Burch who joined the Eagles after time at Charlton Athletic. Nicol describes limited game time after coming into pre-season off the back of a broken ankle and playing catch-up, while loving daily training and finding it hard to break into a side performing well. She wears number four, chosen because it was given to her at Millwall. Long journeys start with a singalong, move through games and crosswords and end in embarrassing stories. In the quickfire half she names Siobhan Wilson and Bianca Baptiste the fastest, Gracie Pearse the most forgetful, captain Annabel Johnson and Charley Clifford the team mums, and Emily Orman the dark horse.
