Fast Fives: Sophia Pharoah

Southampton forward Sophia Pharoah is the subject of this issue’s Championship Fast Fives Q&A. The 23-year-old, who scored the goal that sent Saints into the Championship via the 2022 play-off final against Wolves, discusses her best-ever scoring season in the second tier, her love of quick, possession-based attacking play, and growing up a Portsmouth fan before crossing the divide to join fierce rivals Southampton. She also reveals a basketball background that saw her win a national school tournament before committing fully to football. The feature closes with a locker-room ‘second half’ naming Ella Morris and Megan Collett as the squad’s quickest, Lexi Lloyd-Smith as its most forgetful, Rosie Parnell as its ‘mum’, and Izzy Milne as its dark horse.
