Fast Fives: Libby Copus-Brown

Born in Brighton, raised in New South Wales from the age of eight and a W-League debutant at sixteen for Newcastle Jets, Libby Copus-Brown had taken about the longest road possible back to East Sussex when she signed for Lewes. She is honest that the Championship is a new challenge and that she is out of her comfort zone, wanting consistent minutes but willing to fill any role. The shirt number is a good answer: she has always worn ten, found it taken, and settled on twenty because ten plus ten makes twenty. Her strength is reading the game a step ahead, and the achievement she names outside football is membership of Common Goal. Lewes, she says, has become a home away from home.
