Fast Fives: Chelsey Jukes (Blackburn Rovers)

The second instalment of the magazine’s Championship slot, an interview of two halves. Chelsey Jukes is a full-back and a sports therapist, and 2020 was Blackburn Rovers’ first season in the Championship – a level they had worked hard to reach, enjoyed every second of, and secured their place at when the campaign was cut short in March. She credits the staff and players for the fitness and morale work done individually through the first lockdown, which meant they returned straight back to it, and with new recruits added they worked their way up the table with strong performances before Christmas. Asked about her greatest achievement outside football she names a first-class degree. Her favourite player growing up was Steven Gerrard.
