FA WSL Preview: Dunia Susi, Birmingham City Ladies
She Kicks, issue 4, April 2011 p.12
Tony Leighton interviews Dunia Susi, the 23-year-old former Arsenal, Fulham and Chelsea player who has joined Birmingham City for the Super League’s first season with a possible World Cup call-up also in view. Susi says she was comfortable at Chelsea and expected to stay, but saw Birmingham as a new challenge that would help her progress. She describes a more or less new team going through a building and bonding process with good management and admin staff, and training interlocked with the England programme for the internationals. Happy to play anywhere as long as she is improving, she has been used at right back for England and is developing there. She thrives on the pressure of being tipped to do well, explains the fluorescent wow-wow bib handed out for mistakes in training, travels with goalkeeper Marie Hourihan, and would pick England over a winner’s medal.
