FA WSL 2018/19 Season Preview (#PREKICKS)

She Kicks, issue 49, September 2018 pp.10–33

She Kicks previews the first fully professional Women’s Super League club by club, and the answers say as much about the change as any table would. Hope Powell describes Brighton going full-time and the novelty of training in daylight on grass after players used to arrive from work. Tanya Oxtoby, new at Bristol City, has recruited young and is judging her side on principles rather than results. Matt Beard is building a West Ham team from nothing and expects it to take until November to gel. Joe Montemurro runs an internal Arsenal Champions League with a January transfer window and a tribunal. Amid it are the small human details: Millie Farrow arriving at a Reading initiation dressed as Britney Spears, complete with wig she had brought herself.
