FA WNL Cup Final
Her Goal, issue 6, May 2026 p.53
AFC Bournemouth beat Plymouth Argyle 1-0 to win the FA Women’s National League Cup at Queens Park Rangers’ MATRADE Loftus Road on 28 March, in a final between two Southern Premier Division promotion chasers and two first-time finalists. The tie was settled inside six minutes when Bournemouth’s Bermuda international Kenni Thompson swung in a corner that evaded everyone and dropped into the far corner of the Plymouth net. The Cherries’ backline was not breached thereafter, handing the trophy to the south-coast side managed by former Chelsea and Wales midfielder Helen Bleazard.
