England World Cup Preview: Jill Scott

Manchester City midfielder Jill Scott, who made the All-Star team at the 2011 World Cup and the 2015 PFA WSL team of the year, is excited to be heading into the unknown, having heard from Canadian players at the Cyprus Cup what a wonderful country it is. She cannot travel without the photograph album of her nephews that sits by her bed. Her brother, a teacher in Madrid, cannot come out because school holidays do not match the tournament, though he should manage it if England reach the semi-finals. Her father collects a magnet and a shirt from every tournament; she keeps only the memories, because she loses everything. A folder of quotes on her phone provides motivation, and she travels with a small suitcase, a couple of pairs of boots and one set of shin pads.
