England U-19s Interview: Nikita Parris

She Kicks, issue SK08, May 2012 p.21

An interview with Nikita Parris, the pacy Everton forward known to team-mates as Keets, who joined the club’s Centre of Excellence at 14 and has progressed through England under-15s and under-17s into the Super League side. Parris discusses qualifying for the under-19 European finals in Turkey and the tough selection process ahead, and describes scoring a hat-trick against Wales and another against Austria, regretting not keeping either match ball as she would have had her team-mates sign them. She scored her first under-19 hat-trick on her debut in Moldova. She says playing under Mo Marley for club and country is not easy because you always want to prove yourself, calls Marley the best manager she has worked with, and cites Toni Duggan and Michelle Hinnigan’s 2009 title-winning experience.
