Earned Her Stripes, Now Kling Shoots for the Stars (Meghan Klingenberg)

Houston Dash defender Meghan Klingenberg, now a fixture at left-back under Jill Ellis after missing the 2011 squad and travelling to London 2012 as an alternate, describes an American team always a notch of intensity higher than any other she has played on but which still finds time to laugh. FOX Sports flying the players’ mothers in for Mother’s Day weekend was the happiest she had seen the squad in a long time. At the Algarve Cup a team lip sync competition was won by a group of nuns performing from Sister Act, leaving her a measly second with a mash-up. She watched Brandi Chastain’s 1999 penalty aged ten with her mother, and hopes to create history and inspire others. She shared a Swedish house with Christen Press, Vero Boquete and Jenni Hermoso.
