Determined Duggan Is Digging In (Toni Duggan interview)
She Kicks, issue 37, September 2016 p.20
Manchester City’s Toni Duggan is frank about two years of injuries after a career without any: a knee problem before the 2015 World Cup and then a season-ending ankle injury. Back with four goals in twelve matches for the league leaders, she is playing a new wide role under Nick Cushing that has brought more assists, which pleases her. Left out of Mark Sampson’s squad for England’s first Euro 2017 training camp in late August, she says the club is the most important thing right now and that if the international call comes she will be ready. She was one of the few bright spots of England’s group-stage exit at Euro 2013 and wants another major tournament.
