Cup Final Preview: Mark Sampson’s verdict

England manager Mark Sampson previews the first FA Women’s Cup final at Wembley as a good, tight game between two evenly matched teams with a contrast in styles. Notts County he calls very resolute and well organised, playing aggressively, making the most of set pieces and their front players, and very well drilled defensively through Laura Bassett, Alex Greenwood, hopefully Sophie Bradley, Carly Telford in goal and Amy Turner, making them difficult to break down. Chelsea he sees as having added a different side to their game this season, more resolute and harder to beat while maintaining flair in the top half of the pitch through Eniola Aluko, Ji So-Yun, Gemma Davison and now Fran Kirby, with a core of steel in Gilly Flaherty and Katie Chapman.
