Cometh the Hour, Cometh Khalsa (Kyrie Ball interview)

Sporting Khalsa escaped relegation from FAWPL Midlands Division 1 after taking one point from a possible thirty-six and then fifteen from their last five games. Forward Kyrie Ball admits she thought they were certain to go down after so many losses, and credits never giving up, a couple of new players lifting spirits and a formation change that got balls into the right areas. Once one goal went in, she says, the whole team’s confidence changed and the goals flowed at three a game. Back-to-back wins over Loughborough Students convinced her safety was possible. She never wants to be in a relegation battle again, and points to Leicester City’s men as proof of what belief can do.
