Comeback Kirsty (Kirsty Howat Interview)

Kirsty Howat’s return from a 2021 ACL injury reached its high point in December, when she scored in the League Cup final win over Hibernian at Tynecastle, Scotland’s first women’s league game shown live on Sky Sports, with her family in the stands. Away goals against Glasgow City and Celtic in the spring kept Rangers in a three-way title race. She talks about playing at Ibrox in the Champions League against Benfica as a lifelong Rangers fan who still goes to almost every men’s home game, and about Broadwood growing the crowd with better parking, transport and season tickets. Malky Thomson insists the players go to the fans after every game, win or lose. A Scotland call-up remains the goal.
