Coach Kicks: Mark Parsons

Mark Parsons answers the Coach Kicks questionnaire. His favourite day is the Wednesday of a four-day build-up, the biggest tactical day for fine-tuning a game plan. Christine Sinclair has made the biggest impression on him: if he dreamt of the perfect footballer, she exceeds it, leading by example in everything and caring for team-mates. His players moan most about not being allowed extra training, and he says getting Tobin Heath off the training pitch is a nightmare. He credits Keith Harmes at Chelsea’s Centre of Excellence with supporting him when he was a lost young coach and getting him into women’s football, would pick Kelly Smith for any side, and preaches a growth mindset.
