Coach Kicks: Jayne Ludlow MBE (Wales)
She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 p.60
She Kicks’ standing questionnaire for coaches goes to Jayne Ludlow, and gets some unusually specific answers. Her favourite session is a receiving-skills drill that grows into a small-sided game, though she says what really typifies the Welsh system is the pressing. The player who most shaped her was not a star but Wendy Riley, a dominant, forceful older team-mate at Barry Town when Ludlow was fifteen, at a time when that was rare. If she could drop any player into her side it would be Lucy Bronze. Her medals and trophies are out of the house since her eldest child knocked a glass award off the cabinet. What her players moan about most, in the end, is putting the kit back.
