Coach Kicks: Jay Bradford (Coventry United)

The magazine’s standing coach questionnaire, put to Coventry United’s Jay Bradford alongside her main interview. Her favourite session is a shooting drill, because everyone loves it and she is not a coach of possession for its own sake. The player who made the biggest impression on her coaching career is Ashleigh Neville, a Wolves youngster she lost her place to at 21, who she could see was going to make it and who showed her what could be attracted rather than moved on. Her car is still full of footballs, bibs and cones. Her motivational line comes from Emma Hayes – pressure is a privilege – and her advice to new coaches is to write everything down, seek good sessions and bad sessions alike, and learn from mistakes without repeating them.
