Coach Kicks: Andy Toman
She Kicks, issue 23, September 2014 p.35
Durham WFC manager Andy Toman, who holds the UEFA A Licence and a UEFA B goalkeeping licence, answers the magazine’s recurring coach questionnaire. He names former Aston Villa, Leicester City and Darlington manager Brian Little as the coach he most admires, for varied, enjoyable but demanding sessions and excellent man-management, and cites the FA website and Licensed Coaches’ Club as his most valued resources. Two motivational lines recur: always look on the bright side of life when a player misses an open goal, and when the going gets tough the tough get going. Crossing and finishing is his favourite session because it involves the whole squad. He picks out Paul Scholes as the player who most impressed him, admits his car is permanently full of footballs and sweaty bibs, and covets Vivianne Miedema and Fran Kirby.
