Coach Focus — Matt Beard

She Kicks interrupts a Pritt-Sticking session, in which Liverpool’s staff are attaching high and low intensity labels to players’ drinks bottles, to talk to manager Matt Beard about a winter of change. The former Millwall and Chelsea coach, recently A-Licence qualified and now working full-time in football, has moved his family to Burscough. He defends the decision to release ten players in a day, noting the team had won only two games in two years and needed a complete overhaul, with tough conversations involving long-serving players such as Cheryl Foster and the Jones twins. He has recruited abroad, including American defender Whitney Engen and German forward Nicole Rolser, and targets the top half. Liverpool also move to the Stobart Stadium.
