Changing Times: The Aluko, Sampson and FA Timeline

She Kicks, issue 44, November 2017 p.6

She Kicks sets out, without commentary, a dated chronology of how a player with 102 England caps was reluctantly pushed into the spotlight and a manager with a near-four-year tenure lost his job for non-footballing reasons. It runs from Sampson’s appointment in December 2013 and a 2014 complaint about his previous job, through the anonymous cultural review in which Aluko raised bullying and harassment, the settlement offered in March 2017, the leak that August and the sacking that September, to a second investigation in October that found overwhelming evidence both alleged remarks were made and an FA apology to Aluko and Drew Spence. It ends with a goalkeeping coach sent home from France and a parliamentary hearing lasting four hours.
