Championship Fast Fives: Emma Doyle

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Emma Doyle takes on the Championship Fast Fives after completing a 15-month comeback from ACL injury in January 2023. The 24-year-old discusses building her fitness back up over the summer, wearing the number eight shirt in tribute to her grandad and to twin sister Ellie, a Tranmere Rovers player who shares the same squad number, and graduating with a first-class degree completed largely during lockdown. She runs through Blackburn’s dressing-room dynamics, from card games and Kahoot quizzes on the team bus to identifying the squad’s fastest player, its most forgetful member, and captain Jade Richards as the group’s steadying figure, plus new arrivals Niamh Murphy and Chloe Williams settling in from Manchester United.
