Catch Her If You Can (Katie Robinson Interview)

Twenty years old, a Lioness since November and one of the most direct wingers in the WSL, Katie Robinson talks about a route into the game that barely existed where she grew up. From Newquay, she played at Plymouth Argyle’s boys’ centre of excellence, was quicker than most of them and did not care what they called her, then moved away to Bristol City because there was no other choice. An ACL injury came weeks after joining Brighton, and she is unusually clear-eyed about it, saying she is glad it happened because it changed her perspective. A loan at Charlton restored her, and she is certain she would not have won her England cap without it. She is happiest with the ball at her feet, running at people.
