Case Study: Brighton’s Fiskerstrand and Heroum
She Kicks, issue 66, April 2021 p.33
A worked example sitting inside the Brexit investigation, running two real Brighton signings of summer 2020 through the points system that did not yet apply to them. Cecilie Fiskerstrand, a Norwegian goalkeeper signed from LSK, scores one point for appearing in four of Norway’s nine competitive matches, five for the band of her club, five more for playing over ninety per cent of its matches, ten because LSK were champions and seven for Champions League minutes: 28 points, a pass. Nora Heroum, a Finnish midfielder signed from Milan, gets nothing for internationals because Finland were ranked outside the top twenty, ten for the Italian league, ten for playing every game and two for a third-place finish: 22 points, a fail. She could still be signed, at six thousand pounds a hearing.
