Carli Lloyd, Golden Ball Winner (full-page poster)

A full-page poster of Carli Lloyd, Golden Ball winner at the 2015 World Cup, captioned with her own account of how she prepared. Describing sprints in training in which she completely zoned out, she says she dreamed of and visualised playing in the World Cup final and scoring four goals, roughly two months before the event. It sounds funny, she concedes, but you can be physically strong and have all the tools, yet if your mental state is not good enough you cannot bring yourself to bigger and better things. In the event she scored a hat-trick inside sixteen minutes, the first in a women’s World Cup final and the fastest in any senior final, including a strike from the halfway line.
