Brown Of The Comeback Queens (Fiona Brown interview)

She Kicks, issue 24, November 2014 p.10

Glasgow City forward Fiona Brown, who swung in the corner from which Denise O’Sullivan scored the winner, describes the club’s extra-time comeback against Medyk Konin to reach the Champions League last sixteen. The Scotland Under-19 international admits the 2-0 first-leg defeat in Poland was disappointing rather than damaging, the frustration being the number of chances created and not taken. She believed one goal would reopen the tie, and when Joanne Love scored the first she was sure another would come. Getting to extra time offered a chance to refuel with the crowd behind them, though by then everyone was shattered. Brown calls the aftermath the best moment she has ever experienced in football, before noting that several team-mates had university or work the following morning.
