Bronze is #1

Lucy Bronze MBE is named England Women’s Player of the Year for 2024-25, presented by Georgia Stanway in front of players and staff at St. George’s Park during October’s international break. The Chelsea right-back was central to the Lionesses’ EURO defence in Switzerland, heading the late quarter-final comeback against Sweden and hammering home a shootout penalty, before revealing she had played the tournament with a fractured tibia. She reflects on 2015 as her starting point and 2019 as her individual peak, and calls this year beyond anything she imagined; Chloe Kelly finished runner-up in the fan vote and Hannah Hampton third. A facing page covers the EURO-winning squad and Sarina Wiegman’s National Football Museum Hall of Fame induction.
