Born Kicking

Young Ipswich Town fan Jemima Jones is the latest subject of the Born Kicking feature, discussing her own football journey alongside a celebration of her hometown men’s team’s recent success and the Tractor Girls’ promotion push toward the Barclays Women’s Championship. Playing for Chantry Grasshoppers Under-13s mixed team and Needham Market’s Under-13s girls, the right-footed defender/winger names Chelsea’s Lucy Bronze as the player she’d most like to meet, and Ipswich’s Leif Davis as her football hero. Lighter moments include a robot lawnmower interrupting a school match and a pre-match hairband ritual, rounding out a fun, grassroots-level profile aimed at the magazine’s younger readers.
