Born Kicking

She Kicks, issue 50, November 2018 pp.70–71

The Born Kicking slot introduces two twelve-year-old defenders living many miles apart. Evie Johnson plays for Cheltenham Town Ladies Under-12s and, she says, is made by her dad to support Cheltenham Town; right-footed, she prefers right or centre of defence, describes herself as not afraid to tackle, and names Gabby George as the player she would most like to meet and Lionel Messi as a dream team-mate. Kelsie Marie Hutt from Glenrothes plays for Inverkeithing Hillfield Strollers, formed when Glenrothes Strollers lacked players, and supports Glasgow City and Scotland; two-footed, she plays in defence because she is strong and reads the game, and picks Jo Love as her hero. Both name McDonald’s as their post-match treat, and Kelsie recalls scoring from the halfway line.
