The magazine’s recurring slot for young players goes Welsh. Ffion Purviss, aged eight and known as Ffi, plays for Leicester Ladies Under-10s in a side that has swept the board, winning the FA National, Regional and Leicestershire Futsal Championships plus an unbeaten Leicestershire League title, the League Cup and three open tournaments, beating West Ham and Nottingham Forest development squads in two finals. She names Gareth Bale as the player she would most like to meet, being Welsh. Jasmine Rowley, thirteen and nicknamed Tekkers, plays for the girls-only Vale Girls club and represents development, county and regional squads, holding a Cardiff City season ticket for seven years while also following Manchester City’s women. She admires Steph Houghton’s defending and motivating team talks.
